With our Economy plunging, market crashing and shoe business going down - you would never know what can come to a man's mind these days.

The other day, as I was walking along the street, where I live, to our village shop; this unusual scenic sky view caught my interest enough to cause me to chuckle. I did not have my camera with me, so I thought, "okay, you got my attention."

Today, as I went out passing the same street and going to the same place again, where I went to the other day, this unusual scenic sky view remains the same, except that there's another addition. Pulling my camera out of my bag, it was timely that the Qantas plane passed by too, so I took him a photo as well. Hence the title.

If you feel like having the urge of shopping till you drop and you can afford going to the sky to buy a pair of shoes, consider my Shoe Store in the Sky. Qantas apparently is cutting its cost, so instead of delivering the freight to the store, he decided to drop the goods on the electric wires.

Shopping anyone?

A blanket of Clouds

Okay I'm back to life now.

Taken inside a running car during our recent trip to South Australia with timing and hefty of inconvenience. At this vantage, we were already within the territory of the state, past Murray River, where the car was ferried across the border from Victoria.

This photo was taken at the junction of Murray River bordering the states of Victoria and South Australia.

As you can see, the sky kept changing its mind whether it would stay sunny or gloomy. At the end of the journey, its heavy load of sorrow finally unleashed with inconsolable downpours for the entire duration of our stay but graced with few sunny moments breaking the doom now and then. It was more of Winter than Spring!
Such is the mood of our season so far this year.

Near this club may be which is only a walking distance from where I live, but ironically, it was only yesterday that I finally was able to get inside the premise to meet up with friends whom I did not see in a long time. Here, we enjoyed a scrumptious Smorgasbord lunch together.

Looking at the food gathered, untouched, unconsumed that went to the waste bin, I winced thinking of those who are suffering from hunger and starving to death without anything to eat, and here, no one was showing sign of concern that there is Recession. A place of Abundance and Waste indeed!

The green empty space on top is the local Sports Oval, the hub of schools' and weekend community sports activities: Soccer, Cricket and Rugby.

Just visiting one of the memory lanes somewhere in Orange, NSW. This brings me tears somehow I can't get away from being nostalgic. In contrast, we don't get snow down here in the city, being it is located along the coastal lines. I know that the view is different from those of you who live in the Antipodean pole, so just a kind of giving you an idea how we, downunderners, can also cope this weather. We are also a well-known whingers from the southern hemisphere who whinge about everything: from weather be it dismal or hot, to late train or bus service, to hosting Olympics Games (2000) or whatever change is taking place. When everything comes up beautifully - everyone then claims "I'm proud to be Australian." Does this ring familiar to your own country? If this is true, then we indeed belong to the United Nations.

Okay in the point of order: Top is our former home - the frontyard. The snow blanket covers my garden.Middle picture is the street where this home is located. Bottom: is a portion of the large backyard, big enough to build a granny's flat. That's my little girls.

We all rugged up like sausage rolls and went outside as early as 4 to 5o'clock in the morning to start the fun so we won't miss out. The whiteness of the surrounding makes it look as if it is broad daylight. Then our neighbours noticed what we were doing. So they followed suit. We did it because by the time the sun is up at 7am, all the snow melts. We have pretty strong and cancerous sun rays down here especially on Summer Days. Don't panic, we survive! It's different though up in the Snowy Highlands where the ski actions are!

The biggest snow in Orange in my memory. The year was 1990 precisely in June 25th, the day my youngest girl was born. These last two pictures were taken in the vicinity of Orange Base Hospital Maternity Ward.

Founded in 1994, the Ettamogah Pub house is a cartoon inspired architecture, located in the Old Windsor Road, Rouse Hill. It is a bar with a family restaurant and provides entertainment. Its ambience is relaxed, child-friendly and contemporary.

Stepping into an Ettamogah pub can be like walking into a cartoon, with their precariously balanced and gravity-defying walls, and life-sized models.

A Modern Suburb with a Rural View

An idyllic setting in a fast modern changing times. This piece of farm is located across my daughter's house, a picture that I surreptitiously took between the blinds behind the bedroom glass door. With the current expansion of the railway lines, and busy construction of the pedestrian pavement going on to which is now open for passersby to use, I hope this green area with animals stock will not get affected by. I did not even realise there is a creek (again) until I have uploaded the photos in my computer. So it's a bit of a cheery surprise for me.

Glenfield causeway has been the most critical, undisputedly infamous and undoubtedly dangerous road and residents were clamoring the government to build this bridge.

MY BIGGEST APOLOGY AND THANKS TO ANN FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION:

As it happens after conducting a thorough check, yes, indeed this is a Postcard. I could not remember how I took this photo for I have literally thousands of pictures I took of the Opera House. I could not upload pictures direct here, so I went to my old files in photobucket and had been overwhelmed with so many, I pulled this out of the blue. To compensate my mistake, please find below a new Sydney Opera House taken last June 28, 2009, the day my daughter got married. As the mother of the bride, my little friend Toby, offered me this photo to use as a breaker - to save my Red Face. Oh, this is horrible. Hope I am forgiven.

I never get tired of the famous Sydney Opera House and the Harbour. Thank you J Bar for reminding me.

A long day trip to the Northeast and held by the red traffic light (Stop) I took my camera in haste and spied that reflection above from the glass window of a bus. The traffic loosened in the intersection of this road somewhere in Liverpool, and didn't expect the shadow to appear in this photo. So it's good!

May you take time to reflect and ponder upon your shadow.

This post is bit untimely as we are into the winter, yet, these were taken long ago on a Summer Twilight over Parkway Avenue, Quakers Hill as soon as I alighted from the bus. This dreamy scenario of the northwestern sky held my breath and my eyes were transfixed into its blue and white strands of clouds as carefully brushed into the canvas by an artist. Then I heard some music played on the air - Nocturne by Chopin - of course, it was only my imagination playing.

One beautiful green summer day, I was invited to go for a drive to Crookwell. Not just a drive; we spent the night over there. It was a very very cold night - near freezing - up on the tableland.

Animals are such agreeable friends, they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.~George Eliot (1819-1880) British writer.

After a big breakfast, we drove around town and came to say hello to these good guys. These are Alpacas belonging to a camelid family.

Home in the country owned by our friend Mildred, a peaceful retreat house away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Meanwhile, here's another world, a different world thriving in contrast. Inanimate ... and not out among with nature.

One day I felt bored so I went out for another walk about to the city. This time, I aimed to satisfy my curiosity about the Government House of New South Wales, the Official Residence of the Governor General. This place is more for Ceremonial Events than anything else though it is open to the public for scrutiny as part of a Tourism Program.

I took a train to Circular Quay and thought of using a short cut instead of going around via Sydney Royal Botanical Garden. So up I went by these stairs and crossed the road ...

I saw this sign and followed the asphalted mini road - no, it's not a yellow brick road.

It's a bit fair way to walk as there were many more to see on the way until I reached this iron gate.

As I entered the gate, of course, I was intercepted by this sign which is too self-explanatory. Oh, it's free by the way. So there's no worry there. Not that I'm a miser. Can you see the castle over there? Yeah, those people went in for an inside guided tour and I was the last to get in.

After the guided tour, we were allowed to roam around the garden to savour the view of the harbour. Yes, this area is part and parcel of the whole shebang including the Opera House and the Botanical Garden. It's a beautiful place with a breathtaking SCENERY!

This old freak tree is as old as the building or the castle. I paid more particular interest in focusing my camera down to its base. Such artful psychedelic distortions.

After spending ample time roaming around the promenade and taking shots here and there, I went the same way back and this is what I saw on my descent which is actually the Circular Quay - the wharves of local ferries to cruise around the harbour and any nearby watery suburb Well, there are hundreds of photos to show. I'll post them some other time. Hope you enjoy seeing what's in my world!

While summer down under means scorching days, autumn is the opposite. It came bit early which was a relief. Then we had occasional rain that gave us more comfort.

Winter is here now and I have been feeling it since two weeks ago. Or is it that my body is now acclimatized to the city's weather? Since the place where I came from is a very cold place that we even get snow over there at winter time. The maximum temperature there is even lower than the city's maximum temperature.

Here are some of the natural scenario occurring in the neighbourhood at this time of the year. Messy and nobody cares. Not when storm winds keep bugging and the rain makes the ground soggy. And not when am out to visit my family most of the time.

Pictures were taken just this morning: dismal, cold and raining.

As you can see, leaves of this tree are changing colours, then they fall until the tree becomes bare.

Restored green backyard lawn from the dry summer. Sweet potatoes still thriving.

The back tree is also undergoing colour change except the mandarin behind. That's the little corner of My World.

Roadwork, railwork - whichever. This is most common scenery along the railway lines. I travelled following the Campbelltown Train Service to the city via Bankstown line so I can stay on the train longer and view the other side of my zone.

The NSW City Rail Authority are working non-stop untangling the web of rail networks to minimize delay of train services around the city and the state.

Taken one weekend away for a quiet time in a quiet place from the window of a running train to Newcastle.

This is Hawkesbury River located north of Sydney and one of the most beautiful rivers in Australia. Its surrounding is pretty much a farming area and the river is flanked by unspoiled woodland and bush. Hawkesbury River played a vital role in the early colonization days of New South Wales especially in farming established by the First Settlers who came to Australia in 1794.

As you can see in the quiet reflection of this idyll scenery, peace prevails which makes an ideal pursuit away from an otherwise humdrum day.

Bobbin Head, NEW SOUTH WALES

Australia has so many hidden beauties. Bobbin Head is one of them. Being part of the Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park which is located on the northside of Sydney that takes about 34 minutes drive, this area covers 15000 hectares and had been once the location of the famous Australian Television Series "Skippy", the Kangaroo.
